Aside from communicating about my research, I am delighted to speak with prospective graduate students and colleagues about FIU’s Department of Politics and International Relations (PIR), where I serve as Department Chair. PIR is a vibrant academic unit seeking to achieve excellence both within and across disciplines, with over 33 full-time faculty members, more than 100 graduate (MA and PhD) students, and nearly 2,000 undergraduate majors. I also enjoy working with students and building academic programs at the Latin American and Caribbean Center, where I served as Director of Academic Programs.
